We offer tax-efficient solutions to help you establish a tax presence in Greece.
Here’s an overview of our services:
1. Alternative Taxation for Natural Persons Relocating to Greece
If you are a natural person looking to relocate your tax residence to Greece, you may benefit from our alternative taxation method. To qualify, you must meet the following conditions:
- You were not a Greek tax resident for at least seven out of the previous eight years.
- You invest a minimum of €500,000 in real estate, businesses, movable assets, stocks, or shares in Greek-based legal entities within three years of applying.
Upon approval, you’ll be subject to a fixed annual tax of €100,000 for each tax year, regardless of your foreign income. Additionally, you can extend this method to a relative for a €20,000 tax per relative. This method offers privacy and freedom from inheritance or gift tax on assets abroad.
2. Alternative Taxation for Pensioners Transferring Tax Residence
Pensioners receiving income from abroad who transfer their tax residence to Greece can opt for alternative taxation. To qualify, you must meet the following conditions:
- You were not a Greek tax resident for at least five out of the previous six years.
- You transfer your tax residence from a country with which Greece has a tax cooperation agreement.
Under this method, you will pay a flat 7% tax on your total foreign income annually. This tax is payable by the last working day of July each year and does not offset other tax obligations. Paying this tax extinguishes your tax liability for the income in question.
3. Special Taxation for Income from Employment and Business Activity
Individuals relocating their tax residence to Greece and engaging in employment or business activity may qualify for an alternative taxation regime. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- You were not a Greek tax resident for at least five out of the previous six years.
- You transfer your tax residence from a European Union (EU) member state, the European Economic Area (EEA), or a state with which Greece has a tax cooperation agreement.
- You provide services in Greece within an employment relationship or engage in individual business activity.
- You commit to staying in Greece for at least two years.
Upon acceptance, you’ll enjoy a 50% income tax exemption on your income from employment or business activity acquired in Greece. This inclusion lasts for seven consecutive tax years and cannot be extended.
